Our Personalized Map

The world is a huge place and it can be a bit daunting to decide where to visit next. There’s so many countries and cities to visit and mountains and rivers to explore. We use a map to help visualize our dreams of discovering as much of this world as we can.

When ordering a map from Conquest Maps you can select the “Personalized” Option to customize the legend text and pin colors.

We have three different pin colors: red, yellow, and green. Red is where we have already visited. Yellow is where we’d like to visit or are in the early planning stages. We have one green pin for where we’re going next (i.e. actively planning). Having one green pin on the board (among the countless reds and yellows) helps us stay motivated in our planning and excited for the future trip. After we have finished a trip we exchange the green for a red pin, and we select a yellow pin to replace with the one green pin. We have a rule - Always Have a Green Pin!

Traveling isn’t easy and it ain’t cheap. But we’ve long believed that it’s one of the best things we can do for our family. It helps keep us close together - home is wherever we are, together. We love to explore this amazing world that we’re so incredibly lucky to be able to see, hear, taste, smell, and touch.

Traveling helps us realize how small and insignificant we are. But, at the same time, it broadens our cultural experiences and strengthens our love for the people, the animals, and the nature that we encounter on adventures. Our hope is that as our young kids turn into young adults that they understand their place in this world and never take it for granted. We hope that they spread the love of travel that we share today as a family.
